Design Manager - Birmingham

Due to a number of exciting new project wins, Caddick Construction Midlands region have a great opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to join their growing team.

Caddick Construction is a family-owned business which is part of Caddick Group. We are currently delivering exceptional projects across the Midlands region within a range of sectors.

This role will work alongside the Regional Design Manager working on a number of projects including high-rise residential schemes. The role will be predominately site based to manage the design of complex projects by utilising construction knowledge and experience to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions in conjunction with the design team. Apply value engineering principles to ensure best value for all parties and ensure an effective construction phase by applying an understanding of site management practices, risks, costs and coordination.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Design Manager for a main contractor, experience of working within the construction industry, specifically on design and build, new build and refurbishment projects, a good knowledge of current CDM and Building Regulations and experience of managing document management systems.

Required skills include the ability to communicate with a range of people at all levels, both verbally and in writing, ability to make reasoned and informed commercial judgements and design decisions, ability to plan, organise and manage all aspects of the design and client and customer focused to build productive relationships.
