Caddick Construction Group has been accredited with a Merit International Safety Award from the British Safety Council, in recognition of its commitment to health and safety standards for all of its employees and workplaces in 2023.
This accolade marks Caddick’s second award for health and safety this year, with the businesses also taking home a prestigious award of distinction from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) last month.
Now in their 66th year, the British Safety Council’s International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations from around the world that have demonstrated, to the satisfaction of the scheme’s independent judges, commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health. The awards also acknowledge organisations that have shown commitment to wellbeing and mental health at work.
This comes as Caddick reports its highest standards in health and safety to-date, with the business currently achieving an Accident Frequency Rate of 0.11 (compared with an industry standard of 0.3 according to Build UK) and an Accident Incident Rate of 2.41.
Speaking of this Merit accreditation, Paul Dodsworth, Group Managing Director at Caddick Construction Group, comments: “Creating a safe working environment where our teams can really thrive is extremely important. At Caddick we are responsible for the safety and wellbeing of our own people, our clients, supply chain partners and the public, and we work hard to ensure that everyone feels safe, valued and considered in all aspects of our work.
“We have created a strong health and safety culture that is bought into at every level of the business; we make sure our people are accountable, and we owe our accreditations to the standards they achieve. We want to thank the British Safety Council for this merit award, and we dedicate this to the fantastic teams who work across the Caddick Construction Group.”
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of British Safety Council, comments: “The British Safety Council applauds Caddick on its achievement. The award is to recognise their commitment and hard work to keep their employees and workplaces free of injury and ill health. The vision of the British Safety Council is that no-one should be injured or made ill through their work – anywhere in the world. Achieving this requires more than complying with legislation; it means people committed not only to health and safety but also more and more to workplace wellbeing and impelling others to follow suit. Our heartfelt congratulations to Caddick Construction, and all of those working at Caddick should be enormously proud of their achievement.”
