Caddick constructs new Altrincham industrial development

Caddick Construction has begun building work on two high specification, industrial units in Altrincham, Manchester on behalf of Quorum Developments.

Meeting the increased demand for logistics space in the area, the £7m Ocean Street development involves the demolition of an existing two-storey office and removal of external hardstanding. Caddick will then commence construction of two steel frame industrial units reaching 37,000 sq.ft and 25,000 sq. ft respectively.

Designed and constructed to a ‘Very Good’ rating under the latest BREEAM legislation and achieving an EPC rating of ‘A’, Caddick is dedicated to hitting its sustainability targets and delivering developments that continue to work towards the Government’s Net Zero.

Both builds will host a two-storey office and mezzanine deck. External facilities are set to include 80 car parking spaces, with 7 EV charging ports, 5-level access doors, landscaping, drainage and a new site entrance onto George Richards Way.

Ian Threadgold, Managing Director of Caddick Construction in the North West, commented: “We’re very pleased to have been appointed by Quorum Developments, a long-standing partner of ours. It’s testament to our delivery of previous contracts for this client that we’ve been selected once again to undertake their next build.

“Conveniently located in close proximity to Junction 8 of the M56 and Junction 7 of the M60, this scheme will provide potential occupiers with a highly-accessible trading location. It’s also positioned close to a wide range of local amenities and benefits from a popular and thriving business and retail community right on its doorstep.”

Caddick’s North West team includes more than 100 members of staff and operates from offices in Warrington and Kendal. The team has successfully delivered a range of impressive construction projects in the Manchester area. Exemplar projects include new and improved science facilities at world-leading life science and innovation campus, Alderley Park, and the construction of Base at Manchester Science Park, a vibrant science and tech community in the heart of the Oxford Road Corridor Innovation district.

In the industrial sector, the team has delivered phase three at The Quadrant industrial park in Birchwood, two speculative warehouses at Aviator in Ellesmere Port and phase two of the Tunstall Arrow development in Stoke-on-Trent.
