Caddick Drives Residential Sector Growth With Framework Extension

Caddick Construction Group has been re-appointed to the Innovation Chain North (ICN) Framework, an achievement that will see the business further grow its portfolio of public sector residential projects, in all three operating regions.

The £1.5 billion Great Places Housing Group framework will run for four years until June 2028. To-date, the framework has seen Caddick deliver the Sandalwood Extra Care development for Wigan Council, a 116-home scheme at Loco Works in Horwich for Stonecross Homes and Irwell Valley Developments, plus 63 apartments at Kiwi Street in Salford on behalf of Guinness Partnerships.

The appointment sees Caddick secure positions on three separate lots, including projects of High Value (35+ units), Apartment Specialist Contractors, and Lower Value projects (up to 34 units), across the North West, North East, Yorkshire and the Midlands.

ICN forms part of Caddick’s impressive framework portfolio which also includes NEPO’s £800m Construction Works Framework and its position on Procure Partnerships in September. The latter sees the contractor extend its regional presence into the North East with public sector builds.

Social value continues to be a key priority for those with a presence on the ICN framework, with commitments from Caddick including apprenticeships, work experience opportunities and volunteering hours. Alongside its fellow suppliers on the previous four-year framework, Caddick is contributing to £20+ million in added social value.

Paul Dodsworth, Managing Director at Caddick Construction Group, said: “Our re-appointment to the ICN Framework recognises our commitment to delivering high-quality residential projects which resonate with communities beyond the final build. As our reputation within the public sector continues to grow, we’re pleased to see new additions to our role on the framework, including the provision of apartment schemes and an expanded regional presence for our newly-launched Midlands business unit.

“With four fantastic years of top-quality residential schemes under our belt, we look forward to continuing our work in partnership with Great Places and the ICN Framework members to deliver exceptional homes for their residents.”

Commenting on the announcement Joanne Whitehead, Great Places’ Development Performance Manager, responsible for managing the framework, said: “We’d like to congratulate the 103 suppliers who have been awarded a place on the new ICN framework.

“Ahead of our latest tender, we consulted with colleagues across the sector, existing contractors, and consultants, as well as drawing learning from managing the last framework to design a new framework which is fit for purpose as we move forward with our collective ambitions. We were delighted with the response from the market and received a large number of high-quality submissions and substantial social value pledges for our communities.

“The new framework will continue to ensure Great Places and our peer organisations have tried and tested partners to help us to deliver our extensive development programmes and to help our collective ambitions to tackle the housing crisis.”
