Caddick Pledges £1000 To Yorkshire-Based Homeless Charity

Caddick Pledges £1000 To Yorkshire-Based Homeless Charity

Caddick Construction is extending its annual charitable programme with a £1,000 donation to a local charity that supports families living in vulnerable situations across East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull.

The donation to Help the Homelezz will enable the charity to continue its work in the local community, including cooking and delivering hot meals and essentials to those sleeping rough as well as helping to source accommodation and wider community support. The charity is also currently raising funds to support the purchase of a vital new van, which wil keep the team’s care on the streets.

Help the Homelezz is a donations-led charity run by a small group of volunteers. Despite its name, the charity not only works with those sleeping in rough conditions but also with local families who are struggling with the cost of living crisis.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the charity has also extended its cause to international efforts. Founder of Help the Homelezz, Mark, and his daughter, have made several trips out to the war-torn country to deliver aid, food, nappies, toys and much more to struggling families in refugee camps.

Steve Ford, Regional Managing Director for Caddick Construction in Yorkshire & NE, comments: “Mark and his team at Help the Homelezz work tirelessly for the local community, with no person left behind and no job too small for his remarkable team.

“As a Yorkshire business ourselves, we are committed to supporting our wider community through donations such as these. We hope these funds can enable Help the Homelezz to continue providing invaluable support to those that need it most.”

Founder of the donations-run charity, Mark Penn, comments: “Thank you so much to Caddick for supporting our charity. We depend on donations and it’s quite rare that we get help, so this will be a huge boost to keep us going. Our current vehicle is quite run down but our team relies on this to deliver the necessary supplies to those who need it most. Our goal is to raise funds which we can put towards a much-needed new van, and continue to support families and individuals in the local community.”

Financial donations or voluntary support can be registered by visiting the Help the Homelezz website, or follow the charity via Facebook for more information.
