The new museum in the heart of Lincoln city centre displays 2 million, mainly archaeological objects including the large Roman mosaic and many other finds from the site itself. The building design was bespoke and complex with the aim to complement Lincoln Cathedral and from the reception area a specialist box window ‘frames’ the view of the cathedral towers. One of the first major structures in the UK to use self-compacting concrete.
