Meaford Business Park begins to take shape

The largest brownfield development in the area is beginning to take shape as construction begins on the first industrial unit at Meaford Business Park.

Caddick Construction was awarded the £2.5m contract to design and build the 36,000 sq ft industrial unit and office in September and has now commenced the 30-week programme of works following the construction of supporting roads and infrastructure.

The unit is the first phase of the new business park near Stone which will result in a total of 1.2 million sq ft of building on the 85 acre core site, supporting up to 2,200 new jobs.

The project also includes the delivery of external works including a service yard and car park, the extension of an existing estate road and an off-site surface water swale.

Andrew Murray, Managing Director at Caddick Construction, comments: “Caddick has an impressive portfolio of industrial units and we look forward to bringing our experience to bear on this significant project.

“This development is a really exciting one for the area in terms of job creation and we’re very proud to be involved.”
