Our History

The Caddick Story

1979
The Beginning
Paul Caddick established Balne Lane Construction specialising in Civil Engineering on 6th July 1979 a subsidiary of Paul Caddick (Holdings) PLC.
1996
Ownership of Leeds Rhinos
Caddick Group became the owners of Leeds Rhinos RLFC, a professional rugby league club founded in 1870. The club are based at the iconic Headingley Stadium, which has been their home since 1890.
2006
Incorporation of Caddick Civil Engineering
Caddick Civil Engineering was incorporated to broaden Caddick Construction’s capabilities, delivering complex, high-quality projects across multiple sectors - from remediation and earthworks to highways, foundations, and reinforced concrete - offering a complete, single-source service for clients.
2016
North West office opening
Caddick Construction opened its first North West office in Warrington expanding beyond its Yorkshire roots to meet growing regional demand. The office has since delivered major residential, industrial, education, and public sector projects across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire, and Lancashire.
July 2019
Caddick Group turns 40
Caddick Group celebrated 40 years of success at Emerald Headingley Stadium. Employees from across the Group came together to celebrate 4 decades of growth, innovation and success across construction, development, and property management.
2022
Caddick welcome new Construction Group Managing Director
Paul Dodsworth was appointed Managing Director of Caddick Construction Group in 2022, bringing over 40 years’ industry experience to drive growth, strengthen regional presence, and champion quality, collaboration, and sustainable construction across the group of businesses.
October 2022
Caddick acquired Speedpanel
Caddick acquired the assets and intellectual property rights of Speedpanel from façade specialists Speedclad, following the company’s administration in August - this gave Caddick Construction in-house façade capabilities and expanded its construction expertise.
June 2023
Birmingham office opening
Caddick Construction Group opened its first Birmingham office, marking expansion into the Midlands region and strengthening its national presence, following the appointment of Ray O’Sullivan as Regional Managing Director to lead operations.
June 2024
Wakefield Headquarters opening
Caddick Construction Group relocated to its brand new state-of-the-art headquarters, Calder House, in Wakefield following a £3.8m renovation to the building. The 15,000 sq. ft facility is now home to 150 employees across Caddick Construction, Caddick Civil Engineering and CCL Facades.
March 2025
Durham office opening
Caddick Construction Group opened its new Durham office, marking growth in the North East region.

Caddick’s new 2,045 sq. ft office is located at Adelaide House at Belmont Business Park and marks Caddick Construction Group’s first office in the North East where its growing team will lead business development and project delivery for the region.
September 2025
North West 10 year Anniversary
Caddick Construction celebrated the 10-year anniversary of its North West office with an event at The Manchester Hall bringing together colleagues, clients, and partners to mark a decade of growth, collaboration, and regional success.
