

Caddick Civil Engineering has commenced a £2.7m work package at Richardson Barberry’s new DPD parcels hub at Forrest Park in Durham, supporting sister company and main contractor, Caddick Construction.
The contract, which is the largest for the civil engineering business since launching in the North East, will include extensive site infrastructure works to make way for a 63,000 sq ft warehouse.
Work is now underway and will see Caddick Civil Engineering undertake a 38-week contract, including earthworks, drainage, utilities, external works and the creation of an estate road to the north of the site.
The contract will support Caddick Construction’s delivery of the BREEAM Excellent distribution centre, for which DPD has signed a 25-year lease in a major employment boost for County Durham.
Caddick Construction’s £13m contract includes the design and construction of the industrial development, which forms part of Richardson Barberry’s new £250m eight-acre business park at Newton Aycliffe.
