Caddick Construction To Deliver Blowick Moss Lane Development

Caddick Construction has been appointed to deliver Torus Homes’ new Blowick Moss Lane extra care development, adding to the contractor’s portfolio of high-quality, community-focused housing across the North West.

The scheme will provide modern extra care accommodation designed to support independent living for older residents, alongside high-quality communal spaces and amenities that encourage wellbeing and social connection.

Building work at the new build extra care development will see Caddick deliver 141 properties at Blowick Moss Lane in Southport, as part of a £50m development supported by more than £11m grant funding from Homes England.

Of the homes, 118 apartments will be located within the main extra care facility, with a further 18 apartments across two separate independent living buildings, alongside five mews houses.

The development will prioritise energy efficiency through gas-free features. With the installation of electric panel heaters and hot water heat pump cylinders, it eliminates the requirement for gas boilers. These systems, combined with the addition of solar panels, will significantly enhance the overall energy performance of the homes.

Caddick was awarded the contract through Torus’ Contractors Framework, to which Caddick was appointed in 2025. Set to run for four years, the framework is enabling the efficient procurement of housing development and retrofit works across the North West.

Dave Saville, Regional Managing Director at Caddick Construction North West, commented:

“We are very proud to have been appointed to deliver the Blowick Moss Lane development. This project will create a high-quality environment that supports residents to live independently while remaining connected to their community. We look forward to working closely with Torus and partners to successfully deliver another important scheme for the region.”

The appointment reflects Caddick Construction’s continued growth in the affordable and supported housing sector, building on its track record of delivering complex residential and care developments across the North West. Dave Saville, Regional Managing Director at Caddick Construction North West
