Durham County Council Deputy Leader, Cllr Richard Bell, has joined Caddick Construction Group to formally open its new Durham office, marking Caddick’s growth in the North East region.
Caddick’s new 2,045 sq. ft office is located at Adelaide House at Belmont Business Park and marks Caddick Construction Group’s first office in the North East where its growing team will lead business development and project delivery for the region.
The group’s expansion into the North East follows the appointments of Steve Ford as Regional MD for Caddick Construction North East & Yorkshire and Simon Martin as MD for Caddick Civil Engineering, both of which are tasked with growing the business’ regional pipeline.
The move will also see Caddick Civil Engineering extend its geographical footprint to serve a growing pipeline of residential development and regeneration, with services including groundwork and complex land remediation for brownfield sites.
As part of its new regional presence, Caddick has helped to raise over £20,000 for local charity, St. Cuthbert’s, with the business partnering with the Durham-based hospice to facilitate a Christmas tree collection using Caddick vans and drivers. The initiative raised £12,000 through the collection of 770 trees in the local area.
In addition, £2,550 was raised through staff donations, a figure that has been match funded by the business to generate £5,100. The local hospice, which provides free care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses, also received a funding boost from Caddick in 2024, when the contractor donated £3,600.
Caddick’s new premises in Durham have undergone a fit-out programme ahead of occupancy, with new features established to mirror the business’ newly launched headquarters at Calder House in Wakefield.
Investment in the new office represents Caddick’s commitment to the North East market, and its ambition to grow its portfolio of projects across its core sectors of industrial, residential, healthcare, offices, retail and manufacturing.
Paul Dodsworth, Group Managing Director at Caddick Construction Group, commented: “We are really excited to launch our new office in Durham and to move ourselves closer to our growing client-base in the North East. There is a healthy pipeline of construction work in the region, and we’re very proud to bring our capabilities, knowledge and experience to this thriving market.
“St. Cuthbert's Hospice is a very special place for me personally and I am proud of the funds our people and our business has fundraised to support the local community and families living with life-limiting illnesses.”
Steve Ford, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction Yorkshire and North East, added: “Caddick has a proud reputation for delivering high quality projects, and for being a forward thinking, collaborative and innovative construction partner. The conversations we are having, and the response we have so far seen in the North East market, have proven the appetite and demand for our services in the region, and we’re very proud to cement our presence in the North East with our new Durham office.”
Simon Martin, Managing Director of Caddick Civil Engineering, said: “The Government has some very bold housing targets, and keeping pace with these ambitions is reliant on unlocking brownfield regeneration. Broadening our geographical reach into the North East will allow us to serve this growing pipeline with our knowledge and experience of complex land remediation.”
