Caddick Invests In Horwich Community As New Development Nears Completion

Local community groups receive over £2,400 in donations from Caddick Construction.

Caddick Construction is supporting the local community in Horwich as it looks to leave a lasting legacy in the area, once work completes on the new homes at Rivington Chase later this year.

The contractor, which is currently building 116 new homes on behalf of development partners, Be One Homes and Irwell Valley Homes at the former Loco Works, has been working hard off-site to engage and invest in organisations that are vital to the Horwich community.

Over the course of the project, Caddick has supported eight apprentices, hosted three site visits and spent 21 hours volunteering. This included the site team joining forces with Rivington Terrace Gardens to help preserve and bring the Japanese gardens back to life.

The team actively engaged with Bolton students through educational talks to Year 8 and 9 pupils at Harper Green School, as well as participating in career fairs. This included an Industry Insights Week at Bolton College where Caddick offered mock interviews and advice about the different careers in the built environment.

Caddick has also donated over £2,400 to a number of local charities, including domestic abuse charity, Endeavour, Horwich Foodshare Foodbank and Mencap, as well as sponsoring local grassroots football team, FC Westhoughton.

The investment in the area forms part of Caddick’s community engagement strategy, as it delivers the new Rivington Chase development. Due to complete this summer, the new build residential scheme will feature 38 family homes across eight terraces of four and five-bedroom homes, and two four-storey developments totalling 78 apartments. All homes will be available for affordable rent and shared ownership.

Dave Saville, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction North West commented:

“Our work on a project always extends beyond our role on site with our commitment to developing stronger and more sustainable communities. At Caddick, social value is at the heart of everything we do, from creating local employment opportunities and supporting the next generation, to investing in community initiatives that make a real difference. We’re proud to play our part in Horwich supporting local residents and organisations, and making a valued contribution towards the future of the town.” Dave Saville, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction North West

Paul Philbin, Director of Development and Home Ownership for Be One Homes, said:

“It’s great to see the new homes at Rivington Chase moving towards completion knowing they will soon be providing local people and families with a safe, welcoming and affordable place to call home.

“Building strong partnerships that support our communities is central to our delivery of new homes, so it’s incredibly satisfying to see the social impact that’s been delivered through our partnership with Caddick Construction and the wider supply chain on this project.” Paul Philbin, Director of Development and Home Ownership for Be One Homes

Sasha Deepwell, Chief Executive of Irwell Valley Homes, said:

“Social value is central to how we deliver new homes and shape places across Greater Manchester. It ensures the benefits of new homes are felt beyond those who move into the new developments.

“It’s fantastic to hear about the variety of projects this exciting new development at Rivington Chase has brought to Horwich - investing in local people, supporting community projects and making a positive difference to the local environment. We’re proud to work in partnership with Caddick and Be One Homes to make a meaningful difference in the area and leave a positive and lasting legacy for Horwich.” Sasha Deepwell, Chief Executive of Irwell Valley Homes
