Caddick Lends A Hand To Local Communities As Part Of Annual Volunteer Programme

Teams from Caddick have downed tools to support 15 vital community organisations and charities across the North and Midlands as part of the business’ annual Communities Month volunteer programme.

Caddick teams collectively volunteered over 336 hours across a total of 15 community projects. Over 70 staff members and partners helped to create new school gardens, clear the way for forest schools, support career starters with mock interviews, employment events, career fairs and skills workshops.

Projects that were supported through the volunteer programme included; Dane Park Road development and Oppy Woods in Hull, Leeds Women’s Employability Event, Wade Deacon High School in Widnes and St Margaret’s Primary School in Birmingham.

In the North West, the team of volunteers spent time at Saint Rocco’s Hospice Charity Shop in Warrington, helping on the shop floor and sorting through donated items. Another team also attended Wade Deacon High School’s Career Fair to offer advice to students considering a career in the construction industry.

In Yorkshire and North East, Eldon Community Centre in County Durham and Co-op Academy Brierley in Leeds saw Caddick employees spend time refreshing the spaces, volunteering a combined 86 hours across the two projects.

In the Midlands, Caddick volunteers donated their time to Bilston Church of England Primary School to create a new Japanese themed sensory garden in the school’s outdoor adventure area.

Caddick’s annual Communities Month initiative builds on its support for the communities it works, and forms part of its wider Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, Places for Life.

As a registered partner with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), Caddick is dedicated to raising standards across its business and the wider industry, which includes extensive investment in activity that positively impacts local people.

Launched in 2023, the Communities Month initiative saw staff donate their time to six projects in its first year, growing to 10 community projects in Yorkshire, the Midlands and the North West in 2024.

Paul Dodsworth, Group MD for Caddick Construction Group, commented:

“Over the last three years, our Communities Month volunteer programme has gone from strength to strength, with our colleagues giving their time each year to local community projects that make a real difference. Supporting our neighbours is a vital part of what we do and it’s great to see the excellent work carried out over the last few weeks by our teams. They’ve exceeded the target for the number of projects supported that we set out for ourselves for our third year and we look forward to making an ever greater impact in 2026.” Paul Dodsworth, Group MD for Caddick Construction Group
