Caddick Construction is celebrating the career and contribution of long-serving Business Development Manager, Jo Wright, as she retires after more than a decade with the business, handing over the mantle to successor, Paul Buttery.
Jo retires after 10 years with Caddick, having played a pivotal role in the business’ growth across the North West since becoming the fifth member of the team in 2016 shortly after the regional operation was established.
Over the past decade, Jo has played a key role in Caddick's regional growth, building long-standing relationships with clients including Network Space, Chancerygate and Redsun Developments. During that time, the regional business has grown from a turnover of £6m in 2015 to £178m last year.
With a career spanning 31 years in construction, Jo has spent her tenure at Caddick focused on business development, helping secure a combined £1.09bn of projects across both the public and private sectors. In 2016, she secured her first project win for the business with Linnets Sports Club for Halton Borough Council.
Taking over the role, Paul Buttery brings more than two decades of business development experience in the construction sector having entered the industry after an early career as a professional boxer.
Following in his father’s footsteps, who spent 40 years in business development, Paul has held senior roles across the construction industry and most recently helped double turnover at EFT from £8m to £16m.
Paul joins Caddick at a time of growth in the North West and will focus on strengthening client relationships, identifying new opportunities and building on the business’ reputation for delivering high-quality projects.
Jo commented:
"Joining as one of the first members of the North West team and helping grow the business over the past decade has been a real privilege. I've built some fantastic relationships and worked with clients that remain important to Caddick today. The industry has changed enormously during my career, particularly in terms of representation and opportunities for women. I'm proud to have been part of that journey and to be leaving the business in such a strong position."
Dave Saville, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction North West, added:
"Jo has played a significant role in the growth of our North West business. As one of the earliest members of the team, she helped establish the relationships and reputation that have supported our success over the past 10 years. Last year the North West business achieved turnover of £178m, and Jo's contribution to that growth cannot be overstated. On behalf of everyone at Caddick, I would like to thank her for her dedication and wish her every happiness in retirement.
"We are also excited to welcome Paul to the business. Building strong relationships has always been central to our success, and Paul's experience, industry knowledge and values make him ideally placed to build on the foundations Jo has helped create as we continue to grow across the North West." Dave Saville, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction North West
Paul said:
"What attracted me to Caddick was its reputation. The business is known for delivering high-quality projects, employing great people and taking an agile approach that enables it to build strong, lasting relationships with clients. I'm looking forward to building on Jo’s legacy, strengthening existing partnerships and supporting our continued growth.” Paul Buttery, Business Development Manager North West
