Caddick Civil Engineering has marked the end of its first major project in the North East, with the completion of works on the new purpose-built distribution hub at Richardson Barberry’s Forrest Park.
Caddick Civil Engineering delivered the groundworks for the 63,000 sq ft Grade A logistics facility, which has been designed to support leading premium parcel delivery firm DPD’s expansion plans in the region.
Located at Newton Aycliffe in County Durham, the project was the first appointment and completion for the Durham-based civil engineering contractor since the opening of its regional office last year.
Caddick Civil Engineering worked collaboratively with main contractor, Caddick Construction, throughout the project to prepare the ground and lay the foundations across the eight-acre site for the sustainable development.
Developed to BREEAM Excellent standards, the new distribution hub forms part of the continued growth at Richardson Barberry’s £250 million Forrest Park business park development.
Mark Kearney, Interim Managing Director of Caddick Civil Engineering, commented:
“We’re proud to have delivered the groundworks for this state-of-the-art DPD distribution hub, marking a key milestone in our growth in the North East. The completion of works on this scheme reinforces our presence in the region, as well as our commitment to supporting local employment and driving long term economic growth.” Mark Kearney, Interim Managing Director of Caddick Civil Engineering
