At Knights View in Langold, Worksop, we transformed a 17.7-hectare agricultural site into a development-ready location. Our team constructed access roads, installed utilities such as power, gas, water, and drainage, and carried out extensive earthworks to create stable platforms for development. We carefully managed existing overhead power lines and a gas main while preserving hedgerows and mature trees to ensure environmental compliance.
By addressing the challenges of the rural location and existing utilities, we delivered a sustainable and accessible site.
We carefully planned and executed works around the intermediate pressure gas main, surface water drainage, and overhead cables to ensure safety and avoid disruptions to existing utilities. The presence of rock on-site required additional excavation and crushing procedures to prepare the land for development
Scope of Works
- Acted as Principal Contractor for the first 12 weeks
- Carefully navigated an intermediate pressure gas main, surface water drainage, and overhead cables scheduled for diversion
- Constructed a new bellmouth entrance along the site frontage including service diversions, footpaths, street lighting, and surfacing
- Installed pipe runs and manholes for both foul and surface water drainage systems
- Built detention basin with bentonite liner, approx 2,000m³ capacity
- Installed an attenuation tank with a capacity of 2,350m³
- Installed a pumping station and a 400m rising main along an A-road
- Completed initial groundwork for road construction
- Crushed & re-used excavated rock on-site to maximise sustainability
- Delivered the first 35 new plots to ground floor slab level, including all associated external works and driveways
- Carried out S278 works
