Our role as main contractor at Pudsey Sixth Form College saw the creation of a brand new modern further education learning environment on behalf of Luminate Education Group.

This state-of-the-art college in West Leeds, procured through the NEPO Construction Works solution, expands the provision of further education, bringing 600 new places for post-16 education to the city.

Efficiency Through Framework Procurement

Pudsey Sixth Form College was procured through the NEPO Construction Works solution, to which we were appointed in 2023, providing Luminate with an efficient procurement route to deliver much-needed sixth form space for the city. This ensures a streamlined, compliant and collaborative procurement process while also enabling early involvement and efficient project mobilisation.

Bringing Social Value to Public Sector Projects

Procurement via the NEPO Construction Works framework brought an emphasis on social value to the project, with our team engaging a local supply chain and creating local training opportunities. We also worked with a network of industry partners to deliver a major community project in Pudsey, which saw a team of volunteers refurbish Swinnow Community Centre. This incredible project gave the vital community resource a new lease of life, transforming it into an accessible and thriving space for local people.

Modern Sustainable Design for Learning Excellence

Designed to foster an inclusive and future-ready learning environment, Pudsey Sixth Form College features modern classrooms, science labs, ICT suites, a learning resource centre and a café. The design focuses on creating a bright, flexible and energy-efficient space that supports a range of academic disciplines. Located next to Crawshaw Academy, the new facility provides much-needed capacity in the area, reducing the need for students to travel across Leeds for post-16 education.

Sustainability was a key consideration throughout the project with the college incorporating energy-efficient systems such as LED lighting, natural ventilation, and high-performance insulation. The building is designed to BREEAM Very Good standards, supporting the city’s broader climate goals.

Caddick has built a high-quality facility that provides the foundation for Pudsey Sixth Form College to offer valuable education opportunities to the young people of Pudsey for many years to come.
