Caddick Builds Housing Pipeline With New Homes In Hull

Yorkshire-based Caddick has been appointed to create a brand new development of 34 homes for rent at Isledane in Hull, becoming the second residential scheme to be delivered on behalf of Hull City Council.

The appointment will see Caddick Construction fulfil a £7.9m contract to build the new homes with sister company and groundwork specialist, Caddick Civil Engineering, delivering a £1.6m preliminary groundwork programme.

Caddick’s construction of the Isledane development builds on the business’ work on behalf of Hull City Council. This also includes the nearby Dane Park Road neighbourhood where Caddick is currently building 99 affordable homes.

The Isledane project was procured via Efficiency North’s EN:Procure New Build Framework, which offers a flexible and cost-effective procurement route for small and large-scale housing developments.

Work at Isledane will see Caddick build 34 high quality homes as well as all infrastructure, external works and soft landscaping. Delivered concurrently with Dane Park Road, construction at Isledane is expected to reach completion in 2027.

The new developments form part of Hull City Council’s investment in the ongoing regeneration of Orchard Park, including the creation of new energy efficient, high quality homes for social rent.

Paul Dodsworth, Group Managing Director at Caddick Construction Group, commented:

“We’re very proud to have been appointed by Hull City Council to build a second housing development, which will be delivered concurrently with Dane Park Road, reinforcing the trust placed in our team to help meet local housing needs.

“What makes the Isledane project especially significant for us is the involvement of our own civil engineering partners, Caddick Civil Engineering, which will allow us to bring even greater synergy, efficiency and collaboration to the build.”Paul Dodsworth, Group Managing Director at Caddick Construction Group

Hull City Council's portfolio holder for economic renewal, housing and organisational development, Councillor Paul Drake-Davis, said:

"Residents have told us that their top priority is having somewhere safe, comfortable and affordable to live. Working with Caddick, we’re able to provide that whilst also making these homes really energy efficient. This latest development in Orchard Park allows us to expand the available housing options, adding to the homes already being built nearby on behalf of the council by Caddick.”Hull City Council's Councillor, Paul Drake-Davis

Richard Greenwood, director of operations for new build at EN:Procure, said:

“Efficient and reliable procurement is exactly what we aim to achieve across each of our frameworks. Caddick’s appointment to this development in Isledane is exemplar of when frameworks are done well - ensuring the right company with the right skills can be appointed to the job."

“Across this scheme and Dane Park Road, our frameworks are supporting members like Caddick in delivering essential housing for a range of tenures, and building stronger communities in the North of England.” Richard Greenwood, director of operations for new build at EN:Procure
