Caddick To Build New Homes In Pudsey

Caddick Construction has been appointed to build a new development of 54 family homes at Owlcotes Road in Pudsey on behalf of Leeds Federated Housing Association, adding to the contractor’s growing pipeline of housing schemes.

The £13.9m contract will see Caddick build a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes for shared ownership and affordable rent with associated groundworks delivered by Caddick’s specialist subcontracting business, Caddick Civil Engineering.

Set to be the first scheme delivered by Caddick on behalf of Leeds Federated, Owlcotes Road adds to Caddick’s pipeline of housing projects in the region, which also includes new developments in York, Hull and Wakefield.

As a registered partner of the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), Caddick has worked closely with Leeds Federated to implement a robust construction environmental management plan, including extensive dust monitoring, ahead of building work.

Steve Ford, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction North East & Yorkshire, commented:

“Our appointment to Owlcotes Road reflects our continued commitment to providing high-quality, affordable homes across Yorkshire, supporting local housing needs and creating lasting value for residents. The project is also a great example of our integrated approach, with our civil engineering team supporting the groundwork phase to help ensure a smooth and efficient delivery.

“As a registered partner of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, we’re committed to being a respectful neighbour, ensuring our activities are carefully managed and that we communicate openly with the local community throughout the project. From the outset, we’ve worked closely with Leeds Federated to put in place a robust construction environmental management plan to minimise our impact during the build.” Steve Ford, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction North East & Yorkshire

Georgina Nijjar, Head of Development at Leeds Federated, said:

“The development at Owlcotes Road, once completed, will provide new affordable homes in Pudsey. The homes are being designed to be energy efficient and sustainable. Each home will include energy saving features, such as solar PV panels, air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points, to help support residents to minimise energy costs and reduce the carbon footprint. We’ve ensured that green spaces will be created for residents to enjoy.”

“We are working closely with Caddick Construction on the delivery of this site, with support from Homes England via Accent Housing’s Strategic Partnership. As the project progresses, our focus will be on building high-quality homes while minimising the impact on those already living nearby.” Georgina Nijjar, Head of Development at Leeds Federated
