New Pudsey Sixth Form College Welcomes Rachel Reeves

Caddick Construction and Luminate Education Group have welcomed the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, to meet students on-site of the new £11.4m Pudsey Sixth Form College in Leeds.

The event saw Caddick welcome the West Leeds and Pudsey MP alongside local GCSE students and Ofsted inspectors to the site where work is progressing to build the new Pudsey Sixth Form College.

During the visit, the team gave a tour of the new teaching facility, which has been developed in partnership between Leeds Sixth Form College, Leeds West Academy, Crawshaw Academy, and Co-op Academy Priesthrope.

Students and teachers from each school were given the opportunity to meet with and discuss local educational needs with the Chancellor, before getting a first look at the new college.

Pudsey Sixth Form College will provide sixth form provision for 600 students aged 16 to 18 years and is expected to complete this summer in time for the 2025/26 academic year.

Caddick was awarded the contract through the NEPO Construction Works solution, to which it was appointed in 2023, providing Luminate with an efficient procurement route to deliver much-needed sixth form space for the city.

Steve Ford, Regional Managing Director of Caddick Construction Yorkshire & North East, commented: “We are pleased to be delivering this much needed sixth form college, and it was a pleasure to actually welcome prospective students and local figureheads to the site to see the progress we are making. This project is not just about the building; it's about giving local people the educational resources to help them succeed, contributing to a thriving community. We're grateful for Rachel Reeves’ interest and support, and we look forward to continuing our work to welcome new students to the project later this year.”
