Caddick Construction has successfully delivered a major extension to HARIBO UK’s production and distribution facility at Whitwood Common Lane, Castleford.

Located on a 13-hectare site adjacent to HARIBO’s existing factory, the new 94,000 sq. ft warehouse has been developed to support increased volumes of raw materials, packaging, and finished products. The facility enables HARIBO to meet growing UK demand and future-proof its operations.

The scheme includes an 83,411 sq. ft steel-framed warehouse, alongside 3,122 sq. ft of office and administration space, significantly increasing operational efficiency and storage capacity across the site.

Design & Construction

The project involved the construction of a 6,695 sq. ft elevated, enclosed conveyor link connecting the new warehouse to the existing production building, including associated façade and structural modifications to ensure seamless integration.
Additional works included the delivery of specialist ancillary facilities such as chilled and flammable ingredient stores, a new substation, and associated utilities infrastructure.

External works encompassed earthworks, landscaping, and service installations, all undertaken while the adjacent HARIBO factory remained fully operational. Close collaboration with HARIBO and local supply chain partners ensured the works were completed safely and efficiently, with no disruption to ongoing production.
