Schneider Electric’s highly sustainable advanced manufacturing facility represents a £42m investment in North Yorkshire by the global specialist in energy management.
Working alongside our sister company, Caddick Developments, our delivery of the purpose-built 180,000 sq ft facility at Scarborough Business Park demonstrates our collaborative approach, our commitment to sustainability, and reinforces our reputation as a trusted partner in delivering complex sustainable, high-specification industrial spaces.
As leaders in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, Schneider Electric has made a long-term commitment to manufacturing in North Yorkshire with a pledge to create 200 new jobs, adding to the 450 people already employed by Schneider in the region.
Located just 500m from its existing Scarborough facility, the new advanced manufacturing facility is supporting innovation in the energy sector, allowing Schneider Electric to scale its operations and accelerate the UK’s transition to cleaner energy sources and serve rising demand for green electrical equipment.

Schneider Electric's new Scarborough development is a prime example of the strength of the Caddick Group’s integrated model, and how we work together to de-risk projects and accelerate timelines without compromising on quality. Caddick Developments brought the site forward through strategic planning and design development, while we executed the build with precision and quality.
This partnership approach ensures seamless project delivery from pre-construction through to completion. By establishing shared objectives, we worked together to align programme, budget and long-term building performance, ultimately keeping focus firmly on Schneider Electric’s needs.

Underpinned by Schneider Electric’s vision for a lower-carbon future, the new development sets a new standard for state-of-the-art sustainable manufacturing. The development includes advanced manufacturing space, office accommodation, and logistical support, all designed with efficiency, functionality, and environmental performance at its core.
To meet high environmental expectations we incorporated a range of energy efficient design features, including high-performance insulation, LED lighting, smart building systems to reduce operational carbon emissions and EV charging infrastructure.
We also prioritised low-impact construction methods to minimise waste and reduce on-site energy use, and introduced sustainable drainage systems and landscaping strategies to enhance biodiversity.

Our state-of-the-art smart plant reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainable operations. Building on the wealth of skills and expertise we have in Scarborough, the increased capacity will enable us to support the UK’s move to cleaner energy, and we’re looking forward to welcoming customers onsite so they can collaborate directly with our R&D, design, and engineering teams.
