Caddick Construction completed the design and build of a new extra care and housing scheme off Sandalwood Drive in Wigan.
This new build scheme provided residents aged 55 and over the opportunity to live independantly, with the reassurance of specialist support on-site.
The project involved the demolition of three existing properties and the construction of an extra care scheme comprising 48 one-bedroom and three two-bedroom apartments, including communal areas, plant rooms, bin stores, lifts, external works, drainage, and ground source heat pump heating solutions.
The housing scheme included 18 new-build bungalows.
Supporting Community and Social Value
Beyond construction, the project reinforced Caddick’s commitment to social value.
The team supported local charities, including donating food parcels to help people facing homelessness and poverty.
Just under 20 new local jobs were created by us and 11 apprentices, studying at Wigan College, were supported with work placements on the site.
