Caddick Construction worked closely with WDH from the pre-construction stage to optimise build efficiency, manage costs, and ensure timely completion. Early engagement allowed us to streamline material selections, introduce spandrel panels for faster and safer construction, and deliver £25,000 in value engineering savings across kitchens, joinery, and flooring. Design adjustments also created opportunities for shared ownership homes, enhancing WDH’s long-term community offering.

Throughout the build, we prioritised minimising disruption to the local community by maintaining safe access, managing traffic flow, controlling dust, and limiting noise.

We provided apprenticeship and training opportunities through partnerships with EN:Able Futures, Nickle Construction, and Evermill Brickwork, and hosted site visits and talks for Castleford College students. Our engagement extended into local schools, where we donated Caddick’s “Cones on Site” books to over 100 pupils at Willow Green Primary School, promoting safety and learning.

Community involvement also included supporting the Knottingley Community Shop with festive and children’s activities. Importantly, 91% of our project spend was invested in the local supply chain within 30 miles.
