Caddick Construction was appointed by Radius Payment Solutions to deliver the design and construction of a landmark 3-storey office building at Crewe Business Park.

Arden Square provided 41,043 sq. ft of high-spec, Grade A workspace, designed to accommodate Radius’ growing telematics and EV Charger teams. The building comprised two wings of workspace flanking a striking central atrium, which rises through all three floors and is capped with a roof light, creating a dynamic focal point for the development.

The completed building includes a barista coffee bar, pizza bar, breakout spaces, meeting rooms, and a Star Wars-inspired rooftop sky bar, alongside distinctive design features such as a Millennium Falcon-themed meeting room and lightsaber-inspired stair lighting.

Driving Value Through Innovation

Arden Square was delivered in partnership with AEW Architects and Space Invader Architect, alongside specialist lighting and glazing designers. The central atrium required bespoke design and installation of 72 individually sized glass panels to achieve the architect’s vision, requiring close collaboration between structural engineers, glazing specialists, and the Caddick project team.

Overcoming Complex Site Challenges

The corner plot location within an active business park presented logistical constraints, with limited storage and high footfall. Materials deliveries, waste management, and programme sequencing were meticulously coordinated to maintain safety and efficiency.

Sustainability and Community Engagement

Caddick enhanced the surrounding woodland and wetland habitats, dredging and restoring a pond to encourage local amphibian species. The project also contributed to the local community through donations to Chance Changing Lives and Seahorses Swimming Club, funded the replacement of Crewe Vagrants Sports Club floodlights, and supported volunteer training for Wistaston Community Council. Arden Square achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating, with sustainable features incorporated throughout the design and construction.

Throughout the project, Caddick have developed a good relationship with the client and
consultants, both novated and non-novated. They have worked collaboratively as a team to achieve the project aspirations and have demonstrated a proactive approach to problem solving and commercial management.
