Caddick Construction delivered Lever Gardens, a high-quality extra care residential scheme.
The scheme, delivered for client Bolton at Home, provides modern, inclusive accommodation designed to promote independence and wellbeing for older residents.
Located on Dearden Street in Little Lever, the scheme was built on the site of a former supported living facility and comprises 62 one- and two-bedroom apartments alongside six bungalows, two of which were fully designed for wheelchair users. Each home was built to accessible standards, featuring wider corridors, spacious layouts, and dedicated wheelchair storage and charging areas to ensure ease of movement and everyday comfort.

Residents benefit from a range of communal facilities, including lounges, a bistro, laundry room, support offices, and a scooter store, creating a welcoming environment for social interaction and support. The surrounding landscape was carefully designed with seating areas, lawns, shrubs, feature walls, a pergola, and accessible pathways, providing attractive outdoor spaces that encourage community engagement.

The project formed part of Bolton at Home’s asset management strategy, which invests significantly in creating strong, flourishing neighbourhoods. Through Lever Gardens, Caddick delivered not only a high-quality care facility but also a lasting contribution to Bolton’s commitment to improving homes and opportunities for its residents.

Caddick were successful at tender for this large project and this is the first scheme we’ve worked on together. We’ve been impressed with the professionalism shown both pre-construction and since starting on-site just over 12 months ago. Quality of works is good and relations with the neighbours and local community strong.
