Caddick was appointed by Wigan Borough Council to deliver a high-quality residential development at the Old Railway Arches.

A key gateway to Leigh town centre, this project involved us transforming a former pay-and-display car park. The scheme provided 40 affordable apartments, including 36 one-bedroom and 4 two-bedroom homes.

A Space to Live

The four-storey building offered open-plan layouts with integrated storage, maximising space, natural light, and energy efficiency. Designed for modern living, the apartments combined comfort with sustainable features to minimise energy costs, creating a functional and welcoming community.

Sustainable Design and Connectivity

The development included a 40-space car park with 3 disabled bays and electric vehicle charging points, landscaped communal areas, and all associated infrastructure. Located close to Leigh town centre, the scheme promoted economic sustainability by connecting residents to local retail and community amenities.

Caddick have already engaged well with the Wigan and Leigh community. They have
partnered with Wigan and Leigh College offering careers talks, site visits and work
experience, while engaging with local supply chain and charitable organisations.
